Disability Awareness and Development Initiative (DADI)

About Us

We are a registered, frontline charity supporting blind and partially-sighted persons and creating awareness about disability towards achieving an inclusive society in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). We collaborate with private and public sectors as well as individuals on the following:

Transcription of books into accessible formats for vision-impaired and other print-disabled persons
Rehabilitation of blind youths and adults
Awareness Creation towards eliminating negative attitudes about disabled people
Capacity-building of blind persons and service providers
Employment support services to enhance the productivity of people living with sight loss

DADI promotes the rights of disabled people in accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities Prohibition Act 2018 (Nigeria), and all other relevant laws and conventions on human rights.

To create an inclusive society in which persons with disability are valued and respected through creating awareness about disability, empowering persons with disability with the skills and technology for productive participation in the community as well as advocating for non-discrimination against persons of all abilities.
